 Su oThe Position supports themission of The Medical Center of Aurora of optimizing the quality of life ofall those served by expanding beyond the traditional focus on medical needs tothe needs of the whole person.  TheHyperbaric Technician (HT) demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary tooperate the hyperbaric chamber.  Whenoperating the chamber, the HT insures adherence to the treatment profile, staffdecompression and life safety policies. The HT demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to providegeneral and age appropriate medical care to patients in the hyperbaric chamberand clinic area.  The HT fills asupportive role for those patients requiring physician or nursingintervention.  When in the chamber, theHT oversees life safety of all staff and patients, provides oxygen administration,and observes patient tolerance of the treatment and other general patient careneeds as required.  Duties also includeon call responsibilities, chamber system maintenance & infection control,process improvement, quality assurance, record keeping and miscellaneousrotating duties as assigned.  When need arises, will perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
 

Job Requirements

  1. Position Requirements:
  2. Licensure/Certification/Registration:  Current certification in an allied healthfield.  Certification as a CertifiedHyperbaric Technologist, CHTwith 18 months of hire.  BLScertification.
  3. Education:  Formaleducation in an allied health field.  Completionof a formal course in hyperbaric medicine theory and operation.
  4. Experience:  Minimum of six months in the field ofhyperbaric medicine or a related field. One to three years of experience is desirable.
