Dosimetrist - Radiation Therapy - PRN

Description

The Medical Dosimetrist is responsible for the design of the treatment plans that will cover a defined tumor volume prescribed by the physician and will be reproducible on a daily treatment basis. Under the clinical supervision of a Medical Physicist, the Medical Dosimetrist is responsible for the communication between the physicians, simulation and radiation therapist to ensure the accuracy of the intended care plan. The Medical Dosimetrist must have the education and knowledge necessary to generate the radiation dose distribution and dose calculations.



Requirements
  • Graduate of an approved affiliated Dosimetry program or an approved affiliated hospital Medical Dosimetry program with clinical and classroom curriculum of nine months duration or longer and at least six months experience as a Medical Dosimetrist, or a graduate of an accredited University with a Bachelor's Degree in Physics Radiation Therapist that has completed and passed an accredited program in Radiation Therapy.
  • Five years of clinical training and academic education as a Medical Dosimetrist.
  • Certified Medical Dosimetrist (CMD); CMD eligible; R.T. (R) (T) or RTT required
