The nursing assistant assists nursing personnel in providing patient care.
Job Requirements
Minimum Education
High School Graduate or Equivalent required
Certificate of completion of Nurse's Aide course required
BLS required within 30 days of hire
Required Skills
Verbal and written ability to communicate effectively with other members of the healthcare team.
Maintains harmonious relationships with nursing personnel, medical staff, hospital administration, and other hospital departments.
Ability to handle stress in a positive manner.
Shows interest in job and is dependable to complete job duties.
Ability to understand theory and practice in nursing.
Essential Functions
Completion of work assignments as delegated by the charge nurse in a safe and effective time frame.
Interacts in a positive, helpful manner with patients, visitors, physicians, volunteers, and co-workers.
Ability to take appropriate initiative to assure assignments are carried out according to hospital policies and procedures.
Keeps charge nurse appropriately informed of daily activities and developments.
Provides excellent customer service.
Works with all age groups including infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults and geriatric patients.
Be familiar with Paragon applications for documentation of relevant assigned tasks.
Maintain confidentiality of all patient, hospital and physician related information by following hospital rules.
