ABA Therapist

Job Description

The ABA therapist is responsible for the implementation of a student’s educational and behavioral programming in their home. Responsibilities include implementing and monitoring educational, clinical, and medical programming for all assigned individuals. In addition, ABA Therapist is responsible for assisting BCBA consultant in the overall management of student on their case load and the overall running of a home program.

Job Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Associates or a sophomore or higher in college or University studying Psychology, Education, Special Education, Counseling, Speech or related fields.

    1. Or at least one year working with children with disabilities implementing ABA programming.

  2. Knowledge and use of principle of Normalization and Community Inclusion.

  3. Knowledge and use of Applied Behavior Analysis Techniques, Special Education, and restraint.

  4. First Aid Certification/ CPR.

  5. PCA, RNA, LPN desirable for some positions.

  6. Valid Massachusetts Driver’s License.

  7. Ability to handle confidential information is required.

  8. Reliable, responsible and consistent.

  9. Excellent judgment required.

  10. Availability to work evenings and weekends. 

SKILLS:

  1. Staff must possess patience.

  1. Ability to interact well with children.

  2. Ability to work cooperatively as a therapy team member.

  3. Proven ability to work independently.

  4. Great organizational skills and thoroughness in work habits.
